THATec Innovation is a company founded by scientists for scientists. Our motivation is to help you to stay focused on the essential: your scientific work. From our own longstanding experience in experimental physics, we learned a lot about the requirements of everyday’s lab work and developed strategies to overcome major challenges to realize our research ideas. The idea behind THATec Innovation was born in the lab with the major goal to develop hardware and software solutions to let you profit from our experience in the areas of our expertise: the automation of laboratory devices, optical scanning microscopy, and Brillouin light scattering.

The basis for the concept behind our software products are the ideas that have been realized in the Tandem Fabry- Pérot Data Acquisition Software (TFPDAS) and the related TFPDAS-Micro. For many years, these software modules for Brillouin light scattering spectroscopy / microscopy have been used not only by us but also by scientists in many labs around the world because they greatly simplify the control and automation of complex instruments and the coordination and synchronization with additional peripheral devices.
Our compancy THATec Innovation GmbH was founded in 2016 by Dr. Attila Kákay, Dr. Helmut Schultheiß, and Dr. Thomas Sebastian as a spin-off of the Helmholtz Center Dresden-Rossendorf and supported by the Helmholtz association in the framework of the Helmholtz Enterprise program. Since then, THATec Innovation has taken over the further development of TFPDAS and pushed its concepts to a new level: our sofware platform thaTEC:OS. Based on our experience in optical measurement techniques, we also developed hardware solutions for optical scanning microscopy which complete our portfolio and allow us to provide fully automated customized setups which we will set up right where it belongs: in your lab!
